THE FAT ROYALTY PAYCHECK

I love to open my mail box and see it laying still waiting for me.
I think of my book royalty check as a big reward for some hard work.
Although writing comes easy for me, the art of publishing books is like a stage act; which takes you from a lengthy thought process to some pen-man-ship, rigorous typing, fine editing, re-editing, graphic works and submission; then a final galley in your own hands.
Without sounding too simplistic, most authors will agree with me that, every new book you publish feels like the birth of a new baby.

Then you get into the book marketing world, and it is a ceaseless adventure.
However, your hard work can feel quite rewarding and worth the effort, when you indeed open your mailbox and see that 'over sized' royalty check. Yes, the big one!
It comes twice a year and puts a big smile on my pretty face.
